Does anybody recall the prosperous times around 800 when Kaiser Karl the Great ordered all people who took INTEREST to be taken to the PILLORY for public punishment?

The second CATHOLIC Lateran synod 1139:
"Whoever takes interest, is to be expelled from the church, and only after strict penance resumed. An interest taker who dies without conversion, the Christian burial will be refused."
