BALCONYTV.COM 8/07/2007 PRESENTED BY HUGO O REGAN BAIRBRE - I was born and raised in Dublin, I´m 18 now and have been singing and playing piano since I can remember, I mostly play piano but have recently taken up guitar and have started to bang out osme tunes on that which is fun and hope to take that further..I started to concentrate more on song writing since I was 13 and have been at it ever since.
NIAMH - What can you say about Niamh. Is it possible to some her up in just a few short lines? You could say Celbridge add that to the word Guitar. She was probably educated in Mount Sackville. And we're sure she'd do well in a Special Choir, a Madrigal Group even. One would imagine a women of her finesse would study at NCAD, probably studying something like fine art You know, shes into drawings and paintings and contemporary dance. She also has a thing for rugs bizzarly. You would more that likely have a very decent chat with her.
DARA - Dara is half of the Dublin band Humplifunker who has been performing around Ireland for the past 4 years.

Charlie McGettigan started his musical career in the 1960s heavily influenced by artists like the Beatles and The Rolling Stones. When he moved to Dublin in 1968 he honed in on the thriving folk scene there at that time. His influences then were people like Paul Brady, Donal Lunny and Andy Irvine. Moving to the rural environment of Drumshanbo, Co. Leitrim in 1973, Charlie formed the highly successful Jargon group, which went on to win the prestigious Letterkenny Folk Festival. This win led to the release of Jargons first single Bailieboro and Me. The band went on to record two more singles and then Charlie went on to pursue a solo career. During the following years Charlie worked with artists like Eleanor Shanley. He released two solo albums - Songs of the night and Charlie McGettigan - before joining forces with Paul Harrington and Brendan Graham to win the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest with Rock n Roll Kids. Charlie has since pursued a solo career releasing the albums , In Your Old Room and Family Matters. His songs have been recorded by many other artists including Mary and Frances Black, Daniel O Donnell and Eleanor Shanley to name but a few. These days Charlie tours regularly In Ireland and in other countries, in a solo capacity and with Irish comedy great, Niall Toibin. In November 2005 Charlie travelled to Nashville, Tennessee to work with the legendary producer Bil Vorndick. With Bil he recorded an album of thirteen tracks for release in September 2006. Bil has been nominated for no less than 42 Grammy Awards and has worked with artists as diverse as Bob Dylan, Marty Robbins, James Taylor and Alison Krauss. BALCONYTV.COM 20/06/2007 PRESENTED BY PAULINE FREEMAN Elavator are a three piece band from Dublin which consists of Greg Clifford on Guitar and Vocal, Keith Mahon on bass, And Anthony Burke the percussion specialist The band originally formed back in 2004 as a three piece cover band called THE SNAZZ with guitarist Max Bligh all for the purpose of a battle of the bands contest held at a local school, but at that time they had no singer, only a pinch of experience playing together and with a copious amount of arguments and tantrums the band aimlessly lingered on and seemed doomed never to even par-take in the contest. Luckily the band eventually strengthened and just before the contest guitarist and vocalist Greg Clifford joined the crew. To their surprise they won the battle of the bands which left them thinking about future events and gigs. Unfortunately afterwards more and more arguments arose predominantly between the two guitarists which finally led to the bands demise, After various projects and time wasting the band regrouped in 2005 but without previous band member Max, and having become a little older and a lot wiser started expanding ideas and working together on original songs, soon the band tightened up their act by having regular busking sessions in and around town. It was around this time the band went and recorded their first demo C.D, of which they made out multiple copies and sold them while busking. The bands peculiar misspelled name arose when bass player Keith produced a few dozen home made C.D covers and through common error wrote ELAVATOR instead of ELEVATOR and gave them out with C.D's to quite a handful of people, the name was quickly corrected but while browsing on the internet they found countless Irish and international bands with the name Elevator, so they kept the mistaken ELAVATOR for being unique. Recently they have been rehearsing hard together and have a new but still unfinished E.P which they were promoting at recent gigs, and they also have an album planned for the near future, and with more gigs arising hopefully their popularity will grow larger and larger. Though they have preformed only quite a small number of gigs the band have been known to open eyes and ears with their mixed catchy rock tunes and powerful 10minute experimental style ballads and with the help of the public and you fine fine people at MySpace they might just break through the sound barrier and become the next big band to enrich the pleasures of all nations through catchy, yet meaningful and yet extremely powerful songs...... ELAVATOR, THEY'RE ON THE WAY UP.

BALCONYTV.COM 28/04/2007 PRESENTED BY TOM MILLETT Red Kid draw on the rawness of late 70
BALCONYTV.COM 28/04/2007 PRESENTED BY TOM MILLETT Red Kid draw on the rawness of late 70´s new wave, ska and punk, and inject it with freshness difficult to pin down. Their live shows are legendary with the boundless energy of lead singer Ronan and the tight backbeat, killer harmonies of the band, it has been described as effortlessly swinging from punk to pop. Founded in 2003, they have a shoeless craz'd front-man, a busker from the streets of Barcelona, a drummer with a wacky style of beats, one Beatle-esk Liverpool rocker and a giant of a bass player. "Nobody told me..." Recorded over the past 13 months in Pulse Studios Dublin. Tony Perry and Billy Farrell recorded and produced. Red kid have been chosen by O2 for their "Making Waves" new acts of 2007. Their single "Rocket ship"(a radio release), has made the play-lists on all genres of radio stations from national to underground, and it is also picking up interest in the US. Hot Press tipped it for single of the fortnight. Red Kid have played shows in Germany, Switzerland, Spain, UK, Italy. Last year red kid played festivals such as the Hard Working Class Heroes, and "mantua" with more planned for 2007 with Nokia selecting them for their new tallent of 2007. Red Kid's music has also been used in the movie "The Silver Surf safari", due for release 2007. TV ads for Bend in the River wine, "Top up Magazine" launch and an extreme sports documentary on canoeing and Kayaking.
