Hello, my name is Clare and I play guitar and sing songs. I gig with reggae ska band The Moot, myspace.com/themoot
On this Channel there are reggae guitar lessons and how to play various songs.
FAQ Do I need to read music to play? No. Having a basic understanding of music theory is helpful though.
What are your amp settings? I use an acoustic amp for the electric guitar which has a very bright tone. My amp settings are generally bass 6, middle 6 and treble 8. I have low gain and higher master volume
To play reggae is it standard tuning? Yes for me it is.
Do you have tabs or diagrams? No sorry only the vids
Some tips: It's really important to listen and develop your listening skills. You will improve much quicker when playing music with other people. Regular practice is great for improving, even just 15 mins a day is good. Your fingers will harden over time and it will get easier. Learn as many chords as you can and practice scales. Scales are really important if you want to develop lead playing but are also useful for helping to learn what the notes are and getting familiar with the fret board. They are also great for strenghening your fingers and developing technique. It's good to be able to use a plectrum and it's also good to play with your fingers. Any questions please ask and I will do my best to answer.
Thanks to everyone for watching and for all your cool feedback and ideas, I really appreciate it. Clare :-)
