Long before they won an Academy Award or produced a platinum record, many of the stars of today began their careers on the proving grounds of Daytime TV. The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences salutes these extraordinary talents that started on Daytime TV.

The 28th Annual News & Documentary Emmy® Awards were presented by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences on September 24th, 2007 at a black-tie ceremony at the Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers in New York City. One thousand media industry executives, journalists, and producers attended the event which honors outstanding achievement in television journalism by individuals and programs, distributed via broadcast, cable and broadband. During the ceremony, the Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Ted Koppel, longtime ABC anchor and now Managing Editor of the Discovery Channel and Senior News Analyst at NPR.

The 27th Annual News & Documentary Emmy® Awards were presented by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences on September 25th, 2006 at a black-tie ceremony at the Marriott Marquis hotel in New York. During the ceremony, the Lifetime Achievement Award was given to PBS journalist Bill Moyers. Moyers was honored for his contributions as a television journalist and documentarian over more than three decades. Presenters of the Lifetime Achievement Award included his wife and business partner Judith Davidson Moyers and legendary newsman Walter Cronkite.
