Bob Marley is a legendary reggae superstar and an international ICON. He stood for love, justice, peace, among other things. Today, his music lives on as evidence of what he stood for. Many people all over the world have come to know and love Jamaica and Jamaicans because of Bob Marley. So his greatest contribution to Jamaica has been immeasurable and intangible. He should be Jamaica's 8th National Hero.

This photo album commemorates Lisa's journey in this chapter of her life, and attempts to capture the personality Lisa has bestowed to this site. The photo album includes screen shots taken *only* from YouTube videos or screens (with the exception of the star background, from the hubblesite dot org Gallery). Most images were accessible from Lisa's YouTube channels (lisalavie and lisalavie1), the "Videos" summary of her channel, the "Video Response" listing of her "Angel" video, and videos from (alphabetically!) Alphacat, Edbassmaster, lisalaviesmom, loismahalia, and Ozziehype.
The background song is "Falling for You," Lisa's myspace version. The slides were not originally chosen or arranged for this song.. There is no planned "correspondence" between music and photos because...
... the slides were originally arranged to generally accompany my first-attempt-at-lyrics (explained below) which fit the melody of Don MacLean's "American Pie". The sub-title "Her Music Never Dies" is a counterpoint to MacLean's lyrics, "the day the music died."
Like the planned lyrics, the photos generally progress from darker to brighter, and from past to present to future. *My* singing voice would have spoiled the words and desecrated the commemoration, so the originally planned lyrics are only written below, and are not sung.

Story behind the planned lyrics:
This, my very first attempt at writing lyrics, was meant to accompany the melody of Don MacLean's 'American Pie'. The lyrics were written about the time Lisa's "Angel" reached its first 1,000,000 views in early October 2007.
I adopted Don McLean's "American Pie" melody for no profound reason. It simply had the general tone of a change over a long period of time, an historic process that Lisa's career will be. "Canadian Pie" is an indirect but respectful acknowledgement of McLean's original. Naturally I worried whether my lyrics were good enough to share. They're definitely unworthy, but they are heartfelt.
Don McLean's "American Pie" lyrics have been analyzed to death, but mine are simple.
► The first verse captures the world's discovery of Lisa's music: why didn't we meet it sooner? What we missed!
► The second verse expresses Today: a time in which this music of a living soul enraptures us. We think that it, and we, will never end.
► The third verse looks, bittersweet, to the distant future, when we have all passed. It's not morbid in reflecting on anyone's mortality. Rather it celebrates how beautiful pieces of art will survive us all, even if future generations will not know the artist herself.
► The chorus simply tells a modest human being how much she inspires us and lifts us from the darkness.
